Recently, our company has successfully obtained the Class XM and Class XS power construction licences for Uganda, granting us legal construction qualifications for both conventional power grid and new‑energy photovoltaic projects in the country. The acquisition further improves our overseas compliant construction system and effectively expands our business footprint in Uganda and the East African market.
Uganda imposes strict access requirements for power industry licences. The two licences cover distinct core construction areas, enabling dual‑track empowerment for both conventional power and new‑energy power sectors.
Class XM Licence: Medium‑voltage Power Projects up to 66 kV
The Class XM Licence permits legal execution of medium‑voltage power projects up to 66 kV within Uganda. It covers general grid works including distribution line laying, installation and commissioning of electrical equipment, power grid renovation, and on‑site power supply for plant facilities. It qualifies our company to independently deliver mainstream local medium‑voltage power projects in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Class XS Licence: Special‑purpose Solar Energy New‑Energy Projects
The Class XS Licence is tailored for construction in specialized power sectors. It allows the lawful implementation of new‑energy projects such as photovoltaic power stations and distributed solar systems. It precisely caters to Uganda’s demand for clean‑energy development and supports our company’s in‑depth expansion into the overseas new‑energy track.
